About Us
Founded and led by Matthew Haddon MBALI MSGD, Haddon Studio is a design practice with a reputation for creating sustainable, ecologically-considered gardens, where biodiversity and doing what is best for the planet are the guiding principles.
Strongly influenced by both contemporary and classic landscape design, we are garden designers based in Yorkshire who create contemporary gardens, naturalistically planted, where people and wildlife co-exist.
At its heart:
We create exquisitely detailed, planted, and finished gardens and landscapes
We produce outdoor spaces that encourage reflection, enriching the lives of all who enter the space, through their elegant simplicity
We embrace a natural disorder within clear structural frameworks
Choosing to work with us means that:
You can have absolute confidence in the quality and creativity of our work
We have the skills and expertise to solve your issues and find solutions for any problem areas you have
We are environmentally responsible, with a clear focus on sustainability throughout all project stages
Our gardens promote wellbeing and create spaces for quiet contemplation
Although no garden can ever be no maintenance our approach means that gardens and landscapes require less intensive maintenance than more traditional landscapes.
Our Process
We take a holistic approach to all our designs, offering a comprehensive landscape and garden design service from concept to completion.
Our process includes:
Working with you to understand your requirements and the capabilities of your garden or landscape
Creating a concept plan, to help you visualise how your finished garden will look
Creating a masterplan, to set the intentions for the development of the whole site
Planting design and selection, the heart of any landscape and essential to our plant-focussed design process
Preparation of technical detailing, specifications and schedules, so that your garden or landscape can be built to plan
Preparation of tender documentation, to enable landscape contractors to provide accurate quotes
Help with planning enquiries and permissions, where required
Regular project inspection, to ensure the garden or landscape is built to plan
Sourcing plants, to ensure quality of your investment
Preparation of management and maintenance plans, so that you can move forwards with confidence once we leave
Aftercare consultancy visits, if you require a little more help
