A Courtyard with a Contemporary Twist

A garden courtyard with a flowering Wisteria

Our brief was to transform a shaded and under-used courtyard, without places to relax (due to too many different (and impractical) raised levels within the garden), whilst remaining true to the character of the space.

We created a simple, single raised terrace, to provide areas to read in sunshine or shade, and importantly kept the best of what was already present, such as the beautiful Wisteria, to reveal a light, open and welcoming haven nestled perfectly against the surrounding buildings.

Seen here only a year after completion the garden has become the centre of the home.

This North Yorkshire garden design is nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
