An Award Winning Garden

Matthew's Award Winning garden with oak bench and Hydrangea 'Phantom' as the focal point

Designed for the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show in 2018, “A Place To Ponder” took its inspiration from a simple idea – that a courtyard garden should be somewhere that provides a sense of calm in a space to relax and enjoy.

Juxtaposing traditional and contemporary materials and plant choices, the garden appeals to the part in all of us that appreciates the new and yet finds pleasure in the things we remember from our past. Hydrangeas and roses are interspersed with ornamenal grasses and long flowering perennials, with an oak bench, oak detailing to the clay pavers, and a refelctive water feature.

The garden was awarded a Silver Gilt medal.
