A Sloping Woodland Garden

This garden had become overgrown and rarely used but we wee able to transform how our clients use the space - with a generous patio, pruning of overgrown shrubs (and a few removals as well to allow for the enlarged seating area).

A simple yet interesting planting scheme minimises the time needed to spend tending the large garden, whilst maximising the interest on the slope seen from the house.

Oak retaining walls provide for terraced planting and paths weave through the garden and into the wider woodland, with generous steps (based on Country Park equivalents) providing access to the wilder garden areas from the paving.

Again, seen here only a year after completion the garden has become a restful and relaxing haven and a source of pleasure where before it had become a chore.

This Yorkshire garden design is in East Yorkshire.
